Visit to Egypt
From 16.-23.10.2018 our board member Helga, our main sponsor Manfred from "Kies- und Quetschwerk Oberbrunn" and Michael visited Egypt. Pictures are one thing, but experiencing the reality on-site is something completely different. If you have never been in Egypt before, you will be very surprised by the extreme poverty which is reflected on humans and animals.

The main reason for our visit was to visit our horse stations in Cairo and Matruh. Every evening when the pyramids are closed, the workhorses will be taken by their owners to our station in Cairo for medical check-up and treatment by our vet Dr. med Amr. We distribute saddle cloths and halters. Wounds are treated, saddlery and bridles will be controlled, vaccines will be given if needed as well as antibiotics injections if necessary. At the first eveing of our visit, nearly 60 horses were vaccinated against malaria.
We had also the opportunity to visit the Pyramids of Giza and the Egyptian Museum in Cairo. Our local Egyptian helpers even organized an original Bedouin evening as a surprise. We rode on camels through the desert to a Bedouin tent where we enjoyed grilled food, music and dancing. It was a very special and unforgettable experience for all of us.
We also visited our station in Matrouh. There are the horses, which are in ong-term care. In Matruh we have rented an affordable area and are able to help even more horses.
The days flew by and the summary of our visit is, that our work and the help of so many volunteers is very important. Without "Voice of the Soul e.V.  and you, manyHorses would still suffer or wouldn´t be alive anymore. The poor Egyptians benefit greatly from our help. The visit has shown how important is each donated euro and how effectively these donations are used.
